These two coins might be of interest to our Ancient collectors here.
The Brutus coin is a nice example and well centered. Cleopatra is
a bit rough and for me un attributable. I would have to have NGC
put it in plastic just for that reason. The Brutus in my opinion should
be in some plastic as well. I got the auction notice through NumisBids,
not my area of interest, but I wouldn't mind the Brutus just for
    bragging rights.

I would love either coin, but I'm not willing to spend that kind of money

@Bing My ignorance with identifying Ancient coins is rather
large. Just from looking at that coin, what insures you that
    it IS a Cleopatra coin?

Wow, those are some impressive coins - especially the EID MAR!

Collecting sure would be a lot more fun if I had mountains of cash to throw around with reckless abandon.

That'll probably never happen, but an entertaining thought exercise that I like to run is determining what my net worth would have to be before I spent... say, $500K on a coin? At a minimum, I'm thinking something like $10M.

Yeah as much as I'd love to have that EID MAR denarius in my collection, I think I'd rather have a new house instead. ;)

And you don't have to worry about the photos being stolen.

Or dropping them in the dishwasher. Yes, just last night.

I just converted the Danish corona to U.S. dollars. It’s $392,000. Plus there are also the charges for converting dollars to corona and the shipping. That would set an all time record high for a single coin for me by a considerable margin, and that is just a minimum bid. I guess I’ll have to pass.

    Still it’s an interesting coin.

    There would no "buts".
The Saxony 20 Dukaten is much rarer/ 2 known
perfect quality/ much more beautifull to look at. And its 45mm. 70g. .986 gold! If I won the "powerball" US lottery it would be my first on my list of "to gets".
