Great BG. You spent great time abroad. As for me, German is my fourth language as a translator. I opted for this language at college long decades ago. I didn't use it ever since. Maybe I should have opted for Spanish instead. Anyway I still remember some words or sentences. Und Bruter BG. Danke schon.

I've lived all over the World, but mostly in Europe. I guess you can say I'm a Europhile, but German is my only other language apart from English. Thanks for letting me speak (type) some German. I love speaking it. Hopefully I will be travelling there later this year.

I lived there for a couple of years, forgotten most of the little German that I knew. They do have some VERY long words.

It's a living language. A fun thing to do is to put several words together to make one word.

It would be interesting to know what other languages us Ancient CoinTalkers know. I am also fluent in Spanish (son of native speakers), but I speak it better than I write it. I also have taught myself some random Latin and German words and phrases. And I knew some French but like my Latin and German I just now remember some words and phrases of it (like the numbers).

Sorry to throw this in randomly, but since there are some German speakers here and this was from a coin description that I haven't managed to get a translation for :

    what does Prägeschwächen mean?

I would say "weak strike". That was quick, huh? ;-)

Lol... Very quick, thanks! That's what I suspected when I broke it up into two and fed it through Google translate but I still wasn't sure when I looked at a few coins that the word had been used on.

Ya gotta love a language where words can be combined to make a single word. Weak strike is the translation.
