have a roll of 50 of these and not sure what to do with them. Some have small black spots on them but they are all bu silver colored.
There are 100's of patina methods and recipes for turning metals a different colors not to mention that assorted color rusts can be artificially induced. you can google patinas for steel or any other metals and get 1,00's of hits. If it sticks to a magnet it is coated with a plating,chemical or some other form of surface manipulation. Either heat or cold applications. As a rule if the bronze is magnetic enough to clink to a average magnet the iron in it is contamination If it was added intentionally it was added to stretch out the bronze material to cheapen the item. There is a nickel bronze that is used for bearing type surfaces which is slightly magnetic. As been stated there is no such thing as a bronze steel 1943 penny. And there is still no photos said penny.
