Absolutly incredable! One lucky duck... but hey luck doesn't get in your way when you attack roll searching with a plan like you have! AWESOME!!
I'm not quite sure of what you are saying here. If I found this in rolls that were purchased from a bank, how could it be pulled out of circulation? I have not cleaned it or altered the surface in any way. There is dirt and grime on it, and minor scratches especially on the reverse shield. So I don't understand your statement. Half dollars do not see much circulation anyway. Lots of them that I get in rolls appear unc. Yesterday I found a beautiful 1992P that I think grades MS-67.
It came out in 1984, circulated very briefly and got pulled. Flash forward to 2007 when it got sent back to the bank for some reason, and you bout the roll, pulling it out agoin. Just because something has an old date on it and it is found in circulationit doesn't follow that it must have been IN circulation during all the intervening time.
Thanks for your opinion. I have stated mine previously and I'm sticking to it. Such terminology as "circulation" and "pulled out of circulation" are both broad generalizations especially when you are speaking of half dollars. Neither of us will ever know.
