For the most part I really don't collect US coins other than a few Busts, SL dollars and some colonials. I think if I were to analyze what my focus in collecting is it would have to be an attractive and interesting coin with a bit of history behind it.

As you noted, I referred to James VIII as a Scottish monarch, not James III as a British monarch. Curiously regnal numbering is an issue still in Scotland even with the current Queen Elizabeth - when the 50th anniversary of her reign in 2002 was commemorated on a Royal Bank £5 note that year she was referred to as Queen Elizabeth - without the regnal II - QEI was never queen of Scotland - but QEI's cousin's son did become King of England in 1603 - James VI became James I of England but he was still JVI in Scotland. And thence the Stuart family ruled Britain until 1714 when the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha family traipsed over.

Part of the problem with my collection is that a lot of it I imaged years ago and don't think the images meet my standards of imaging now - but I have so much filling up several large safe deposit boxes that I am frankly overwhelmed at the prospect of re-imaging.
