Why are the Britanias more expensive than most other bullion coins?
Also what are people's thoughts on the Isle of Man's Noble 1 oz silver coin? Do any of you own one?

I have usually found that a particular mint charges a bit more than others....Maples are some of the cheapest while Panda's/ are some of the most expensive, the Britannia's are right about in the middle with the Libertads and Kooks.

The reason is they have a mintage limit of 100k on them. The 2012 version is stated as unlimited mintage, but they did that with the 2011 also and then stopped at 100k, so who knows for sure.

This probably doesn't account for the full difference, but Brittanias are sterling silver with 1 oz of silver content mixed in. So there is still the 5% copper or whatever other metal is in there that adds a little to the value.
