Brass vs. Copper Pennies

    I have a 1982d small date weight 2.5. is this anything?

    Sounds like a normal copper coated zinc cent, just face value.

    so you’re saying that all my cents (I have 20,000 and all are 1963-1982) are somewhat bronze

    I had a similar cent. Mine had a small round blob of some sticky stuff on it. I peeled it off and the area under it was shiny like a freshly minted coin. Maybe something similar happen to your coin during it lifetime.

    ...those are not impossible to find, but much harder than other ‘82s...if it has good eye appeal and very little wear, it’s probably worth putting it in a flip.

    IMO...the only ‘82 harder to find is the Denver copper small date, of which only 2 or 3 have been found, depending on who you talk to and who you believe...Spark
