Brass 1976 Penny

    I have a 1976 d lincoln memorial penny weight 2.04 grams. It is very thin and not quite as big in diameter as a regular penny. Any info would greatly be appreciated. Thank you, Matthew

    I have TWO 1976 brass like pennies. There's no mint on either. If I can figure out how to post a photo...

    I too have a 1976 no mint very shiny penny looks like gold but who knows could be brass any ideas, i did the magnet test and it did not attach to the magnet

    What do u mean why did i do that? because i wanted to...why else...i also read that gold does not attach to magnets..why else..and your webpage is talking about.
    1983, 1985-D, 1997, 1997-D & 1998
    not 1976...here is a pic of course i will go to an expert and if its not a proof or error coin. ill just make it into jewelry.

    Appears plated. It's worth .01 cent.

    hmmm yours looks more fake mines is more mirrored...but i appreciate the answers..i will take it to a coin expert...it will still make a very nice ring...if not real

    Picture is not great on mine, but it looks better in hand. Let me try for another photo. I can assure you it is as real as yours. cough, cough.
    Hard to pick up the gold color without the flash. Trying again.

    Don’t embarrass yourself at a coin shop...... theses guy at this site combined will have more knowledge then every guy in your coin shop. Some of these guys make a living at this..for a very long time also!! They have collections bigger then your average coin shops!

    They know what they are talking about!!!

    I held on some steal pennies for 5 years and thinking I had some cool. Plated!! Thanks ct for helping me NOT Embarassing myself at a coin shop!! Hehe!
