I looked for similar examples of this bractreate, but did not have any luck. It is 17mm I was not able to make out the legend either, part of it was STANVS•PROTR ...maybe Hopefully someone knows this type thanks
Maybe this? https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=2538985 GERMAN COINS AND MEDALS AND OTHERS THE COLLECTION ERNST OTTO HORN, PART III HALBERSTADT BISTUM Gero von Schermbke, 1160-1177 Brakteat. 0.77 g + NVSC -. S STANVS PROTRMA bust of St. Stephen vv with raised hands. Berger 1331; Better / Brämer / civil 15:18. Herrliche Patina, vorzüglich
i have one i picked up, i just wanted to get at least one example of the type. Bela III - Bela IV of Hungary, 1172-1270 AD, AR Bracteate Head right, reverse incuse of obverse. Unger 122. 16 mm, 0.4 g it's VERY thin, note the weight for the diamter, and i get a bit nervous every time i handle it...seems so delicate. i don't know much about the coins, heres the very brief wikipedia section on medieval coins of the type...
