I didn't know what to pick out of your post to reply too cause it was all good - try asking people here to sell you wheat cents instead of Ebay - you will be treated kinder!
I don't wonder - anybody else? Maybe because Iphones and tablets are so much better to communicate with their friends than having no one to talk about coins with?
You just got lucky, yes it was seeded. I bought 1 roll off eBay a year or so ago. I was curious. Had a crappy looking 1857 FE. I'm not curious anymore.
I'm over it. I had to buy a roll on ebay, I think everybody should at least once. Just as a learning experience. I think op knows about the scams and stuff with rolls on ebay. As long as everyone is happy who cares.
I think that it is good for that! If I were you I would go to a local coin ship, or coin show to see if they have wheat cents in rolls or bulk, as they can oftentimes be found cheeper at these places.
Thanks, I am pretty new here and didn't even think of that as an option. In fact I had an offer in private messages from another member to do just that. So thanks!!! coin talk community. Another good idea. I will look into that. Never even thought about doing that.
Although quite often you get rolls of just common 40's & 50's - IF they have rolls of 30's, 20's, & teens, you will probably pay a bit more but at least it won't be the ridiculous Ebay prices!!
I've got tons of wheat cents that I've separated in zip lock bags by decades. Can you get much more money for rolls of teens vs the twenties vs the thirties?
I was thinking about this story: "Fully searched roll of cents from 1909-1919; mostly 1919 since they are very common; mostly AG3 condition or worse; copper value is 40% more than face value; worth at least $0.50." I was thinking about a "Buy it Now" price of $5.00 including shipping. I should go on HSN and show those boys how it is done!
