I notice a lot of you are collecting star notes, older notes and fancy serial numbers. Seeing that most are beinng pulled from circulation I can suggest a few books for you to help you determine if they are worth keeping. These won't help with cool serial numbers. That is up to you. Here's a link .http://www.fstctycurr.com/supplies.html If you are strictly into ones then I highly suggest the book by Robert Azpiazu. It is the most comprehensive book out there for the subject. His book breaks them down to when they were printed - you can pinpoint your serial number this way. It also includes sections on errors such as web notes, 129 notes and Forth Worth 295 notes. Hey, it's gotta be a great book as I'm listed as a contrbutor. If you're into all denominations of small size currency then get the latest edition of "Standard Guide To Small-Size U.S. Paper Money, 1928 To Date, 5th Edition" by Dean Oakes and John Schwartz. This book covers all denominations and types of notes since 1928 except nationals. You may want to see if there is a 6th edition though. Actually I need to get one as mine is the 4th. As many of you are finding out - collecting currency from circulation can get expensive. Take it from a guy that has well over $1000 of star notes these books can help.
