Some of my favs of 2018, starting with Elymaeans (including a van't Haaff plate coin, third one down), then some Parthian tets and, finally, a group shot of my fledgling collection of ancient bronze weaponry, something I've really gotten into in recent months - originally begun just to give my coins some context (since most of these are from ancient Iran and surrounding Western Asia) - but it's a group that's starting to take on a life of its own and I will definitely be building it up in 2019.

The weapons include Parthian types (as per Malloy and Sermarini) arrowheads (the little guys facing downward to the left), Graeco-Scythian arrowheads (facing to the lower right), larger Luristani arrowheads, and large blades (daggers or spears, and one short sword). The blades are from Luristan or other Western Asian regions and date to c. 1200-800 BC. (Seriously old!) Sizes here range greatly, from about 15mm for the smallest arrowhead to 46cm (18”!) for the short sword...that one would have been longer if not for the broken tip.

Pavlos You pick out the big men. I'll make them brave!

Great coins, a completely different area as where I collect in but somehow I have always been fond of those Elymaean silver coins.

Thanks, all. Regarding the composition of the weapons, TIF, I was going for the Star-Destroyers-attacked-by-rebel-ships motif...
