Bitcoin - I don't Understand

Well, at some point ALL of the bitcoin will cease to exist. It isn't real. Civilizations don't last very long. The amount of electricity and energy resources being devoted to mining and tracking this crap is ludicrous. In the not too distant future choices will be made about whether you want light and heat, or somebody's crypto wallet.
