Hey Guys I found and looked up my star note bill and also noticed it's a birthday bill, however I still don't know the value and how to go about selling it...I see so many offers for similar bills online but it's so confusing.. Please help
This isn't a blue note or a birthday note. A birthday note will have the day/ month/ and year in order.
Don't listen to those sources, they are full of misinformation. A birth note is just what Michael description it as. The first two digits are the month, the next two digits are the date and the last four digits are the year. Your bill would breakdown as follows: 06641948 06=June 64=no month has 64 days 1948=The year or 1948 So close but it's a miss. Some people stretch it by making the year the first 4 digits followed by the month and date but this is not the correct format. As for the star note itself: It's a star or a replacement note It's on a twenty, a higher denomination A twenty is a highly used bill The bill is cut and very well centered It has several folds and crease marks The corners are worn There is a magic marker stain (top left) Minor staining on the reverse Condition is everything on paper money. Since this is a newer bill and with the overall condition, despite the rarity, it will be worth face value or very close to it. Hope this helps.
Not a birthday note. And definitely not a blue note. Forget YouTube. They are a fountain of misinformation! Just ask us!
In a birthday note the first 2 digits in the serial number must be a 01 through 12 for the month. The next 2 digits need to be 01 though 31, corresponding to the month of course. You can't have 0231 as February does not have 31 days. The last 4 digits are the year so you can only go up to 2019. Some people stretch this into the first 2 digits are the date and the next 2 are the month but that is not correct by the definition of a birthday note.
No. The order is wrong. A $100 birthday note was posted very recently. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/100-birthday-star-note.343817/ And for the lazy:
