Wew..its been a while. I was convinced to go to a coin show with @Collect89 and a mutual friend not to far away in Willimantic, CT. I imagined I would come up out empty handed as it is an American coin heavy show, but boy was I wrong.

Prior to going to the show, Collect89 informed me that this was the show he and attended last year, but the special thing about this show was that these coins for sale here tend to only appear at this show and only once a year.

Making a long story short - we spotted Allen Berman while we were there and of course he asks everyone, "What can I interest you in?" My response is always " What ever he light touches, and whatever it hasn't in a long while."

After an hour or so box flipping - I smelled something...

I leaned over to Collect89 and said, " hey you feel that?" He said, "What?" I said, "its this coin's history spraying everywhere."

Good score! William I tends to be hard to find, and expensive. This is a nice one.

Like many folks, I did my time with modern coins & have taken the ANA's advanced grading class a couple times. They taught me to look at an old coin & try to picture the original minting of that coin in my mind's eye. This vision might help you visualize how the coin might have appeared back in the day when it was struck. IMHO, the coin that ANoob purchased may look pretty much as it did when it was minted. ANoob calls that "pretty high grade".

Wow, nice Anoob. Always exciting to attend a coin show, even better to come out with a great coin like that.
