I don't think there is anything "wrong" with your coin ... JA is merely claiming that it may have had some extra touch-ups (I'm horrible at times when it comes to detecting that kinda stuff ... luckily, I have a squadron of people behind the scenes that make sure my "stuff" doesn't stink)

... just jokes ...

=> oh, but I still think that your coin rocks ... yah, it is very difficult to detect a legit desert patina from a make-up baby through a single on-line photo (in self-defense, I have ceased buying coins with desert patina ... well, coins with suspect looking desert patina anyways ... yup, some of 'em are just soooo purdy, eh?)

I've really enjoyed seeing your collection ... I think you have great coin taste (keep-up the good work and hone your skills)

Speaking of big coins of Cilicia, here is 38 mm piece (27.87 grams) of Gordian III and Tranquillina from Seleucia ad Calycadnum, with those two vis-a-vis on the obverse and Tyche and Apollo vis-a-vis on the reverse.


SNG Danish Cilicia 218, SNG France 2, plate 52, #1035, SNG Levante 776, plate 49.

38 mm is impressive in hand.
