BEWARE OF THESE FAKE CHINESE ENGELHARD BARS CURRENTLY BEING SOLD ON EBAY!!!!! NOTE THE SERIAL NUMBERS ARE IN THE 000,000. THIS STYLE REFERRED TO AS "BIG E" NEVER RAN IN THE 000000!!!!! IT RAN ONLY IN THE 300,000-700,000's.
A BAR WITH THESE SERIAL NUMBERS SHOULD BE A EAGLE AND FLAG STYLE BAR NOT A BIG OR TALL E!!!! THE EAGLE AND FLAG RAN NUMBERS FROM THE MID TO UPPER 700,000's -900,000's THEN RESET FROM 000,000's - 100,000's.
PLEASE REFER TO THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE ON ENGLEHARD BARS TO VARIFY! HERE IS THE WEBSITE:
    http://about.ag/Engelhard-10oz.htm
IF YOU GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE AT THIS SITE YOU WILL SEE THE NUMBERS OF ALL ENGELHARD 10oz. BARS.
THESE BARS COME FROM CHINA AND SELL FOR ABOUT $10 A PIECE. YOU CAN SEE EXAMPLES AT
    http://Aliexpress.com.
ALSO THE PACKAGING IS WRONG AND THE NUMBERS ARE POORLY STAMPED. NOT LIKE ENGELHARD STAMPING AT ALL!
UNDOUBTEDLY THERE WILL BE FAKES WITH CORRECT SERIAL NUMBERS SO YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE DIFFERENCE IN PACKAGING AND STAMPING BETWEEN THESE FAKES AND THE REAL ONES!
IF YOU HAPPEN TO BUY ANY OF THESE BARS CONTACT EBAY AND GET YOUR MONEY BACK!

I have no worry if I bought one from APMEX on their ebay page...correct? I bought one over the weekend.

I sold off a bunch of football cards just to buy that one bar and now I'm shaking in my shorts after reading that post....LOL :p

I second that. We know the OP is excited about his "discovery", but typing in all caps is difficult to read. Aliexpress has become a haven (and an untouchable one at that) for counterfeit items... literally thousands of fake silver and gold coins, rounds, bars, jewelry, etc. enter the U.S. (and other countries) every day... and have been for years. If they show up on eBay, just hit the "report item" button. Don't let the problem cause you sleepless nights or enough aggravation to hit the "caps lock" key.

I AGREE...SO HARD TO READ ENGLISH WHEN IT'S ALL CAPITALIZED. PRETTY SURE MOST AMERICAN COINS ARE IN ALL CAPS TOO...NOBODY COMPLAINS ABOUT IT THOUGH.

    i digress;)

Most American coins don't bear multi-paragraph walls of text.
