Better proof Franklins way up.

I put a few proof Franklins on my watch list at last weeks Great Collections auction. they had two '51 in pr66 that went for $819 & $852 w/10%bp. and 1 '56 type1 in pr67 brought $348. that's way up in a couple of years. was that a fluke or are early proof Franklins getting hot? I'm interested because I put together a set a few years ago in pr66 & 67, now I wonder if I should look to sell.

I'd be interested to know as I have a 1956 Type 1 Proof Set still in OGP.

There is a wide range of the look of Franklins that have as much to do with the value as the grade. Coins exhibiting very little or no cameo will have the lower range of value, but a nice semi-cameo will still bring a decent premium even without the designation on the slab. Do you have any images of the coins that you sold?

I didn't sell any. I have a collection. i was checking the auction to gauge prices. the pics from great collections for the coins sold didn't show anything special IMO.

I know that the cameo proofs get real good money.
