What's your favorite? I opened a 2011 Canon La-Gaffeliere this weekend, and it was superb, but I've also recently enjoyed a Pavie-Macquin.

For me, I really enjoy pairing Classed Growth Bordeaux with Bust coinage. Many of the classed growths were operating at a high level in the early 1800's, so I enjoy the historical synergy (Thomas Jefferson was a huge fan of Bordeaux). I'm a fan of anything Margaux, but Pauillac is also well represented in my cellar. Good Bordeaux pairs with pretty much anything....

I have been known to pop a Grand Cru Champagne when I get a special new coin, especially one I've been searching for for a long time.

When bidding in auctions, it is also sometimes enjoyable to have a VSOP or XO Cognac (even better - Armagnac).
