Does anyone have a magnifier they can recommend that works great for error coin hunting? Approximate price, brand name and degree of magnification would be helpful.

    Thanks

Any recommendations on a magnifier that has a strap to hold it on?

    (Headband. Whatever.)

Most people just use a regular old lanyard.

BeLoMo triplet 7x (if your eyes are good) or 10x (if your eyes need some help). The 10x has a larger viewing area than the B&L equivalent eyepiece.

Don't buy their lanyard, though. Any generic lanyard will do. Personally, I use a Verizon Pro Bowl one. Suggested retail on the 10x triplet is ~$40. You can probably get one off eBay or Amazon for $28+shipping.

As for the hands-free magnifier, ask your local jeweler what they use.

On a side note: BeLoMo also offers an 8x doublet, which doesn't seem like a good idea to buy, so be aware of that. It might be cheaper than the 7x, but it's not the bargain that it appears to be. I'm curious about their 20x quadruplet, though. I'm guessing it's a doubled doublet due to the strength of magnification, but I've never used one, so I can't be sure.
