A couple tips about the Danscos. When you get the album make sure to use compressed air to blow out the pages. They tend to have a good bit of cardboard particulate. If the particles get on uncirculated coins it can cause spotting, though they tend to stick to the slides rather than the coins. It can also be a bit tough getting uncirculated coins into the holes due to the sharpness of the reeding. What I do is take a new cardboard 2x2 and use the mylar window to push the coin in. Also, you don't have to use the slides. The album slip cover has an internal coating that inhibits toning and prevents dust accumulation.

Wouldn't a pair of cotton gloves be less awkward?

Yes, but I'd much rather press on the face of the coin with a mylar film than with cotton gloves.

Thanks, I just ordered the album and cover and it's helpful getting tips. As impatient as I can be at times, (unless I'm fishing), I now know how to get an uncirculated coin into the slot without breaking out my hammer, LOL.
