Went to the bank and the teller told me she had gotten a older fella come in and deposit alot of older bills I look at them and I see red seals and silver certificates. Red seals were still chrisp. Also teller gave me some coins that looked old to her. Out of the 14 she gave me 4 were silver including a worn smooth standing liberty. Also sorry for picture quality took pictures in pooe lighting and with a older camera
What are those canisters in the photog? PVC cement? Oh, and I love the notes. Especially the 'red seals'. Nice to have friends at the bank.
Wow nice! I’m still waiting for a day like that... How much did you get for the silver certificates? They aren’t usually worth much more than face value. If you had a silver certificate way back, you should've traded it for silver. It’s worth almost 20 times more then a silver certificate.
@Corn Man could you tell the newer collectors what you asked the teller? Maybe they could learn some tips.
Well I was cashing in about a hundred bucks in nickels for cash after a coin roll search and I asked the teller who knows me because im a regular anybody deposit anything older. Then she said yeah someone came in with these old blue bills. My eyes lit up as she showed me 250 bucks face in silver certificates and Red Seals. I bought them all took the best of the lot for my collection then sold the others for 1.15 to my Coin dealer. She has a till to for change and I asked her if the guy deposited any coins and she pulled out what she had left and got the 4 silver quarters. Always ask if someone has deposited any older bills when going places never know what somebody has spent or deposited.
There still out there always soneone who has had a safe of them since the 50s and they either deposit it into the bank orwhen they die thier kids do
I used to get them occasionally. And silver too but lately there’s nothing out there I still occasionally see $100 bills from the 60s and 70s I know there’s a lot of good old boys that have a safe full of cash
Lol a week ago I went to the back and a lady said she had a wheat penny so I gave her one cent for it.
