I recently decided to join the 21st Century and get a smartphone. What apps are good ones for coin collectors?

There are a lot of bad apps. The only quality ones I've seen are US Coins (for tracking holes for US date sets), NGC Coin Details (certlookup with barcode scan, and it caches scanned coins), and so is PCGS photograde (same as the website but you only have to download it once). Silver Coin DB is also decent. It lets you quickly look up the silver content of world coins.

Coinfacts, but you'll need a subscription. Well worth it in my opinion.

Are there any apps that show current coin values? A phone version of numismedia?

I've worn out the NGC app. Good to hear Coinfacts will be free.

Just downloaded the iPhone app... it's free and I don't need to login to view coin details. I think you need to have an account to access the PCGS coinfacts website.

I do not have a pcgs account. I saw a tweet from pcgs about it being free and I downloaded it immediately. It was from 3 days ago. Apparently it is free on both iOS and android

Thank you all very much. Has anyone found the PCGS price guide to be useful/accurate?
