    Hi,

Just curious the best book for these. I see a Bowers book that dies Mercs and Walkers as well. And the book by Cline whi is the expert so far as I have read.

Any opinions out there? For the Cline book, does edition matter?

    Thanks!

I have Cline, 4th edition. My guess is that there's more detail than the Bowers book if by that you mean the Whitman book.

I've got the 1st, 3rd and 4th editions of Clines books. The 3rd ed.
is soft back. The 4th ed. , published in 2007 has population stats.
for both PCGS and NGC. It also gives pops. for Full Head and non
Full Head pops. Also has a picture gallery of errors and communication
with McNeil with the mint at the time. Over all a good book that
is well written. The only negative is that there are no color pictures.

Oh, one other thing. I find that having the specialist book (Cline in this case) does not answer every question and sometimes the more general Whitman book supplies additional information. And vice versa, of course. I tend to buy more books for the series I'm interested in since no one author has it all.

Google Books has a most of the Cline book on file. It is missing some pages, but at least you'll know what to expect from it.
