    LaCointessa, there were a few very valuable coins,but all those coins were medieval..

    Kentucky, I can clean silver coins, but some bronze coins can be very very difficult to clean..

    Agreed, although those "silvered" coins are tricky

    @Kentucky and others:

    The one attached here is my most scarce. Helvetica declared it extremely rare and listed it as R4, only one other known. I found this in a batch of uncleaned.

    Constantius II, AE follis, Cyzicus. AD 335-336.
    FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right.
    GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS, two soldiers holding spears and shields with two standards between them.
    Mintmark star SMKA.
    RIC VII Cyzicus 113 var (officina); notinric 7cyz113.
    Rated R4.

    I agree, dealers do a quick survey and can recognize coins that they want to keep. However, when I get them the actual finite details are unknown. I have to work with them, and that is what I like. I am retired and have time and patience (patience I haven't used yet) to attribute them. Here are some that I had no idea of until I got partially finished. They were very crusty and I think they turned out exceptional. I have no idea what they are worth, and don't care.

    I've purchased close to 2,000 total coins from uncleaned lots.

    The best coin was this Commodus denarius. All others were dime-a-dozen LRBs, for the most part.

    Not sure if this was intentionally left in as a "seed" type of deal, or if it genuinely ran under the radar.
    The before pic doesnt show it well, but ti started life as rather bronze-looking piece, so maybe it was passed over as being just another small bronze coin.

    Perhaps it's just me, but I like to know what coins are worth.
