I am deeply and bemusedly aware of that. At least if it were paid I could understand the pathology. Let me know the next time you "are required to" make up yet another phantom definition of "political" and I'll stand, applaud, and maybe even salute.

And what DID happen was "PMs" from other members specifying YOU as the reason they're almost never on anymore, and cockeyed charges of "political" specifically. One went so far as to say you favored some political viewpoints over others, but I can't really say I've observed that. But then again, with your quick finger, the only gripes I CAN have knowledge of are my own.

Yes, mostly right. Unless you find gold. Depends on how much of a quality snob you are. Stuff like early copper, one has to be more forgiving. But even those can survive pretty well under certain conditions.

This is a dug coin, found in well-drained, sandy soil.

But generally speaking, yes, you're better off not picking up a detector if you're the least bit choosy about coin quality. It's not for everyone. You have to love the hunt for the sake of the hunt, like the CRH people do. You don't get to choose what you end up with. That is simultaneously frustrating and exciting.

It's S-166, with the die crack, as several nice ones found in this area have been.

That's a buddy's find. My only dug DB cent is a corroded slug. It was too close to the high water mark next to a tidal salt marsh.

Dunno. Maybe? You'd need an EAC person for that answer, I suppose. I only know the Sheldon number because I was told.

Yes, I did watch the video from beginning to end. Why ? To see if there was something in it that warranted moderation. There wasn't.

You claim his videos are scams Kurt, well, I would ask you how define scam ? And I say that because I define scam as as one person doing something to try and cheat another person out of money. And his videos do not do that in any way - therefore they are not scams.

As for what he has to say being misinformation or disinformation and THAT being reason to remove his posts - if I did that I'd have to remove half the posts on this forum, or more, including a whole lot of yours ! And that's not something I'm ever going to do.

And you ask if it matters to management that people post bad information on this forum ? Well, honestly, what kind of question is that ? And are we supposed to make it a rule that members can only post good and accurate information ? Who would judge the information Kurt - you, me, somebody else ? Who would even be qualified to do such a thing ?

When one sees what they think or know to be bad information posted by somebody, the way you deal with that is to post good information. And hopefully do so in a polite manner. You, as in the collective you, can can disagree to your heart's content, but that's all ya can do. I would refer you to the famous quotation - "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." That sentiment, is what is practiced here !

And removing You Tube videos because somebody "might" get some kind of click through benefit, if we remove one we'd have to remove them all. Or are you really suggesting that the mods are supposed to view every single one and then say this one is worthy and that one isn't ? I mean really ? Do we do the same thing will all posts ?

No Kurt, none of this is ever going to happen on this forum. Any member can post anything he wants as long as it stays within the rules of this forum. And whether you like or don't like, or anybody else likes or doesn't like, what they have to say - well that doesn't have anything to do with anything. They still have the right to say it - just like you have the right say what you say - even though I don't like much of what you have to say ! And many others don't like what you have to say !

Ya see Kurt, nobody gets to impose their personal likes and dislikes on anybody else - not around here and not ever.

Except you, of course. And a WHOLE bunch of people don’t like what YOU say, either. In fact, many of the most active members don’t. By the way, and this is neither your fault, nor this site’s, but this OP’s videos (plural) are emblematic of what’s going wrong with numismatics.

Hey @GDJMSP, if so many people dislike what I say, why do I keep getting so many “likes”, even in THIS thread. Hmm? Wonder why baseball21 has become scarce? Hint: not because of me.
