I am overwhelmed with the sheer number of these available. Vote for your favorite in the poll and toss any thoughts in the comments. They are all within $10 of each other.

    I picked #1 because it's the sharpest.
    Has some vertigo to address.
Does it have to be a certain year for the 7070 set?
    I looked into the question...1860 - 1864, cop-ni.
If you have time, search out more.

There are three slots - one for a 1859 without the shield, one for a 1860-1864 copper-nickel (which is only some of the 1864s), and one for a 1864-1909 bronze.

I have a fairly worn one I found roll hunting as a kid in the bronze slot, so it has some sentimental value. I want a pretty sharp example in one of the other slots. These get pretty expensive at grades much higher than these and the price about doubles when slabbed.

#1 has been cleaned, but that doesn't bother me too much.

I like the detail and color of #3 and #5. I voted for #3.

Do you have reverse side photos of these? Based on the obverse, I think #6 is the best option.

    #1 is corroded and cleaned.
#2 is nice, but it's slightly MAD and the denticles look uneven.
#3 has friction marks on the high points and I find the color unattractive.
#4 doesn't have good eye appeal in my opinion, but it is an incomplete planchet error.
#5 has that spot on the "O" of "OF".
#6 has a very nice color and very even denticles, but the hits behind the eye and the one on the ear are something to consider.

I like No 3, it has the appearance of what we used to call a "white penny" in the olden days. The right appearance to recognize the copper / nickel cents from the bronze at a glance. It looks just right to stand out in a 7070. (It looks like mine too)

I like them all but if I were to choose one for my set it would be the 1862. It stands out among the rest to me.

I blame Spell check and it takes my eyes a bit to focus that early in the morning... Spell check knows this and slips things by when it can...that and I really didn't know how to spell it.:p

It all depends on what grade your collection is. You wouldn’t want an AU coin in a VG collection.

One 63 NGC XF cleaned looks like a deal.

Regardless of possible cleaning, I'd go with #1 since it has more details than the others.

I'm all over the place, actually. Kind of a 'best bang for the buck' vibe. So my 1803 cent is maaaaybe an 8 while my moderns are all proofs and my Walker is a 58. But I got them all for (what I think) was a good deal. So, for this, I want at least one nice IHC, so I have set a budget that I think will allow me to get a decent one and am trying to stick to that.
