Oh, BTW, most dealers had left by 2:10PM. Sunday must be a real ghost town. BUT... keep in mind - almost all big early departing dealers are there for "dealer to dealer" sales, not for collectors. The guys who are "dealer to collector" do stay.
My biggest dissapointment! I made Baltimore Whitman my first show and I think I even complained about it on here at one point. I know now that the ones who stay are the ones I can afford to deal with anyhow. It's a nice show and I don't mind going on a Friday or a Saturday. Friday I like it because it's busy and Saturday I like it because I know where I should go!
That's because about a decade or so ago we started inviting the John Reich Society people to join us at our conventions. After all we have a lot in common, classic designs, plenty of varieties, from and era when the dies were made by hand and struck on screwpresses. And there are both copper and silver coins designed and engraved by John Reich.
Picked up a nice 1937 S Washington Quarter in PCGS MS65 for under 3 bills. Toned obverse, mostly blast white reverse, probably a mint set coin. Just seven more to complete my BU set of silver Washingtons. Also grabbed the two type 2 proofs from the SBA set. WAY outside my budget, but saw a couple of very nice 1796 quarters. Can't remember the grades, but had to be at least AU. Somehow I expect those 18th century coins to be rather crudely struck, but these did not look that way at all.
