Absolutely, I never miss a Balto show. I'll be in town on Friday ... if it ever stops snowing around here. Bruce
I will be there Thursday and Friday. It will be my last hoorah before I fall into a deep depression with all the taxes I will owe.
I'm hoping to go on Saturday. I missed the last one and this will be the last one before I go on deployment.
I assume you are talking about the Whitman show. If so, "yes", I'll definitely be there. I always get there at opening time on Friday. It's really the only show I go to anymore because: -- it's big -- it's close by -- there are three per year -- it's unlikely that any of the smaller local shows will have what I want -- to go elsewhere (like the 2013 ANA National Money Show last year) costs the price of a GOOD coin to get there (and I find the ANA shows overpriced) But one day I'll go to a FUN show since they seem to be very popular. And maybe a Central States show.
Cool. If anyone can suggest a vendor with wheats, I'd appreciate it. Ill be coming in via train, what time does the doors open?
If you like high end wheats I recommend Angel Dee's. Also there's The Penny Lady. Otherwise just roam the floor. Plenty of dealers available that will have wheats of ALL grades.
Im concentrating on two collections. My XF 30-58 and AU 09-58 1924d 1926s 1928s 1931s 1933d I really hope to find a 31s. I havent seen one online that I liked or was having money issues at the time.
Surf the dealers; you'll find the date/mm's you want. Whether they are priced as you'd hope ... well, that's up to you. And don't buy the first one you see. Window shop. And write down the dealers you'd like to revisit. Don't do what I did with one of the coins VERY high on my wantlist. "Oh, I'll remember THAT dealer." Never found it again. That was a REAL bummer.
Yeah. I learned that lesson at my first coin show. Not that I got a bad deal or anything. I paid what the coin was worth, I was really new and over graded the coin a bit. Then when I got home, the coin was much darker than the rest of my collection and it stands out. I would say my collection has a medium brown tone, guess it would be considered average? So now Ill bring a sample coin. It was a small show with not much wheats to begin with, but if I brought a sample coin with me, I would have bought something else. Now I have a little bit more knowledge and dont have to rely so much on others opinions.
