I must have gotten lucky, then, because I got put on hold and eventually someone answered. Frustrating for sure. None of us has time for this. I still have no better advice than to keep trying. The web site isn't expected to be back up for a couple of days.

UPDATE: Just as I finished this post, I got through!! Thank you dreamer94! I just got my confirmation email. whew. The 3 coin set was still available.

In my haste to order, I didn't realize that with the introductory prices, it would cost $25 less to buy the 3 proof coins separately vs. buying the 3 coin set. However, there seems to be a big demand for it. One has already sold on eBay for $400 and you do get a fancy box.

 

I didn't realize that either wrt the 3 coin set. Yeah, I think that since it's limited to 25,000 sets, it has a premium on it...at least for now.

 

#2 Worked Like a Charm

I kept getting that annoying message, but pressing #2 I was put on hold briefly and placed my order - whole time took 9 minutes! Not too bad :high5:

I got in at 1:55 MST and the order process took just about 3 minutes. They were pretty quick. I had
tried several times repetitively from 10:00 am MST. # 27804xxx

One of my many new years resolutions was not to say anything bad about the mint, regardless of what they do. I wonder if thinking bad about them counts? Oh well if were to easy to order, then where would be the challenge, the character development or the patients and tolerance one needs to learn as they get older and mature in their wisdom. Man I sure wished I believed that junk I just posted but I am trying real hard. As my old grand daddy use to say "boy , that don't get the squirrel out of the tree." In this case think it would be an Eagle

 

Man even option 2 is not working....yet...everybody must have decided to use this option by reading this post. At least my father got through and got his order in.

 

Just got home and found out I had to call to order these coins. I was on hold for about 5 minutes and was able to place an order. I am curious to see if they sell out as fast as some of the posts I am reading think they will. If so, then I guess I should have gotten home earlier. I do admit that it is strange the Mint would do this on a day that they planned to make a major release. Makes me wonder if they had other problems and this is a generic messge they decided on. Who knows. Boy I miss ND!

 

Being an IT person I got to admit at times you don't get a choice on what happens when. 5 minutes - gaaa - at least this time I am in queue. The first couple of times I tried 2 I got disconnected.

i doubt the mint will sell out today, BUT i really wanted to get my order in. I just love the baby eagle design!!!!

 

I am glad for you guys that got you orders in. I have been on and off the phone for nearly 3 hrs and have not even been put on hold yet. Must be to far out in the sticks. Oh well looking at a 52 proof set. May just get that instead

 

Took about 15 minutes of dialing/waiting time to place order. Received confirmatory email seconds later...

Use option 2 (not option 1)- you may have to try a couple of times like me, but once I got on hold I felt like I would get to order. I was on hold for 5-10 minutes.

 

got my order in. bought unc of the dollar and half dollar.

 

Thanks that worked. Got some guy who was slow as pond water. Must to have been a rookie. Think he got a little ill. May cancel it later just for the heck of it. Man that was a lot of work to pay for overpriced silver but it is going for a good cause. I see silver has taken a little drop. I wonder if they will lower the price
