This thread will be the 4th of 13 Jefferson Nickel GTG threads that I will post over the next three days. I will try to provide links to the successive threads so that everyone who responds to this thread will be notified. Each thread will start with the words "Baker's Dozen" as well so they can easily be found using the search function. Please GTG of the 1943-P Jefferson Nickel shown below. I have attached a poll for you to cast your vote and you may select up to 3 different things: the numerical grade, Full Steps or not, and the + designation. As always, comments welcome, and please remember to vote in the poll.
66+ I think the scuff on the reverse keeps this one from a 67 but other than that seems like a pretty clean coin. I think the mark under column 1 goes across the line in the steps causing a break. There also seems to be some bridging of the steps under column 3.
I have posted the 5th GTG thread in the Baker's Dozen series of threads, please click on the link below. Baker's Dozen GTG #5 1943-D Jefferson Nickel
I think this one at MS66+ and I think it just BARELY gets the 5FS designation. I think the mark on the upper left on the reverse (just below the E) prevents it from being a 67.
I was between 65 and 66 but went 65 (continuing with my theme of decreasing grades ) ....it definitely looks like the weakest reverse among the first four but the obverse might have pushed it above my 65 guess...not fs (break between pillar 2 and 3)
