Anyone know what's up with this coin? I was thinking it may be a 1914 that took a hit to the latter 1. The fact it is heavily circulated seems to support that theory. Or it could be a 1944 that someone was attempting to alter to a 14D but were not having success. Clearly I am not entirely sure or I wouldn't be asking, so what do you all think?

It looks like your first assumption is correct. It looks like a 1914 that through wear and age took a hit on the 1. It can't be a 1944, since the initials of the designer was added again in 1919 I believe.

Thanks guys, that's actually what I was hoping to hear. I can stick it in the Lincoln cent folder until I get a better example.
