That is true...and sellers are usually pretty good about that (and from my experience...have a policy for it).

I checked the seller's feedback after this thread was started, and the OP had yet to leave any. Therefore, I can only assume that he didn't do so until after opinions were expressed and most certainly didn't get the message. Any so-called "bashing" done here will end while the seller got the gift that keeps on giving... doesn't seem fair, does it?

Couple of things. I always immediately put an initial deposit on any items I need more than 30 days time to pay.

Second, why would I expect sellers to have to wait for payment on ebay? Because those are ebays terms, and the seller has measures to ensure speedy payment by checking a box that says in order to take the item out of an active listing it has to be paid for right then and there, or open a non paying bidder case otherwise. I have been kicked out of a few coins that I hit the BIN button on and was either forced to pay right then or the item stayed active.

My main reason though is that I expect the seller to abide by the terms they signed up to, and that does not give them the right to immediate payment unless their listing is designed that way. My personal financial business is my own and as long as I pay by what ebay deems as reasonable, then I dont see any issues, the seller agreed to those terms before selling.

Now I DO almost always take the time to inform a seller of what my issues may be if I need to rearrange funds, wait for a check to clear, etc. Thats just a common courtesy and I dont mind doing it, but as far as the seller feeling entitled to immediate payment, well they need to read the terms like everyone else and set their listing accordingly if that is an issue for them.

Maybe I'm just blind...but I can't recall a single time I have seen an eBay listing require immediate payment. It seems that payment within 3 days is the norm.

The wife has bought a few items that required immediate payment. It doesn't happen all that often though.

You can require such for a Buy it Now, IF you have a premier or business paypal account rather than the regular.

Hmmm, learned something new today. I find that odd only due to combined shipping. It seems there would be no way to buy multiple items from one person and get combined shipping if it was setup this way...that's a shame.

In a case like that I'd get in contact with the seller to try and work things out.

EMAIL the seller and ask if he could refund excess shipping fees if you buy multiple items. He doesn't have to , but many would to assure selling the other items. Maybe not if they were high shipping cost, but coin related usually would be minimal.

You can get a lot if you ask nicely BEFORE transaction. :)

Oh, I know...that's how I would handle it. Let me ask you this...does it say "immediate payment required" automatically in ads like this? The first thing I do if someone has multiple items I am interested in is check and see if what their combined shipping policy is. It's almost always listed. If I don't see one, I send a PM.

I think there is a warning somewhere to tell you that the seller requires immediate payment.......

Immediate payment required or not, most sellers will not put up with 2 weeks!

Correct. You cannot complete the BIN until you have paid, if seller has checked the listing box, "immediate payment required". This will appear as you try to complete the transaction. Transaction won't complete until you pay.

Not necessarily. Sellers always have the option of refunding the shipping portion of the PayPal payment. I've done this in numerous occasions.

Not onky that, but have an immediate payment required for Buy it Now items insures that two or more people don't end up in a squabble over who actually gets the coin. The fellow that hit the BIN button at 1:00pm yet does nott pay until 6:00pm or the fellow that hit the BIN button at 2L00pm and paid immediately.

You see, the item does not get removed from inventory until its actually paid for.
