This one was a real mess; the initial sale was actually cancelled by eBay and the listing removed. The owner relisted it the following day and eBay removed it again. Seller also had a raw "1955 DDO Lincoln" for sale and the listing removed as well. But it actually gets worse… the PCGS cert look up shows the coin was last sold July 11 and that listing cites the same cert number but has someone else’s images and an image of the wrong slab. And to make it even more confusing I found the sale in March from the cert and the following image with the same cert# as the 1st one posted...
I'm glad I was able to see that, I just don't know enough about coins. Almost everything I bought was from the mint or collected off the street. I hope to keep learning how to learn from you people out there.
Bad photos are one of the tricks the crooks use to sell their junk on the Internet. If you see a bad photo of the coin that is offered pass and move on. There is no reason to take a chance on that item.
