New Coke didn't work for Coca Cola and The New Ebay with higher fees and a layout requiring you to navigate through a more complicated search menu is not working for a lot of people. Currently Ebay is the only way to go and their new business model may be profitable for common items such as cell phones, but the traffic to coins will find better venues and those new venues are opening every day. They only thing keeping Ebay afloat is honest sellers and honest buyers. As the both the bad sellers and bad buyers have more leniency through one sided feedback and lack of Ebay rules enforecement the good buyers and sellers are fading. In 8 years I have been on Ebay and on the last 2 years I am buying and selling much less on Ebay. I still buy 5 - 10 items a week, but I may buy two items a month if even that off Ebay.

With fewer listings why would they want to remove a few altered items if it only cost them money. As being a trading site without any responsibility as "Sellers are responsible for content" they do have limited liability with only income to lose.

As far as Paypal's buyer protection... Let just say it has never worked for me after two attempts of not receiving items and two electronic items that didn't work. I am still waiting on a coin related $27 refund that Paypal removed from my account when I login without any mention of it to only repost it after calling everyday for a six days. Now it is back as says refund completed as has said completed since Friday. Now four days later my credit card says they do not see it and Paypal says it was refunded and to wait 30 days. I have run out of patience with Paypal and after a supervisor refused to contact the credit card to figure things out and insist I wait 30 more days (this all started July 12th) I informed her that she had 1 day to get it corrected and call me or I would just reverse the charge through the credit card. I really want to close my Paypal account, but Ebay prohibits a long list of alternative electronic payments.

Unfortunately as a seller, many buyers are brainwashed into thinking they are protected and will not even consider buying unless the seller take Paypal.

As a seller I do not want Paypal and will not sell an item if I think the lower ending price will offset the 3% Paypal fee. After figuring in the headache of the possibility of dealing with Paypal it isn't worth dealing with Ebay/Paypal. My only options to wait until their 25c fixed price listing and submit an item at a fair price and hope it sells without Paypal offered. Just sold a 20th Ann. Platinum set and before being purchased after 3 days I had zero watchers. Probably because I didn't offer Paypal and for a $2000 item despite 100% feedback people bought into Paypal's claim that they are protected.

Again, just another failing business model.[/QUOTE]
