[QUOTE="Bones-65, post: 8257770, member: 136030"]Well, I've been working on my Lincoln set on and off sense around 81/82 at first I wasn't really that serious, I metal detect and so some of those ended up in my collection early on. As the collection started to grow I tended to get a little more serious with it. I had some bucket list coins that I thought wasn't likely going to show up, 09SVDB, 55DDO, I thought maybe a 14-D to be possible, maybe an 09-S. So, not with total intentions but the route I worked on was filling holes, get the collection, I did decide pretty early on to upgrade the metal detecting ones.. So, I got down to where there wasn't many holes to fill, and maybe 4 years ago I bought a 09-S, then about a year later I got the 14-D well the collection became more enticing. I started looking around for a few badly needed upgrades. Ebay raw was great for me, I'm talking there was a lot of .50 and $2.00 deals and no worries about counterfeit with the super common coins. Then my album binder from the 80's looked like crap, so I bought two new albums and all new sleeves, divided the wheats into one album the rest into the other. Pretty nice, then those missing holes created more of an itch. Also by now a good bit of the 59 and up was getting a lot of UNC add ins. When it came time to fill the 09SVDB hole I decided I didn't want to us household finances to buy it. I started collecting BAGS of smashed aluminum cans! all my pocket change, copper wire, and if I did something for somebody and they wanted to give me $10 or $20 I tossed that into the pot. And I bought it, I'll spare you the story of how I got ripped off on the first one being a counterfeit!!!! That about ended my collecting days, but I ended up with my bucket list 09SVDB. I found that there were so many on a budget UNC Lincoln's even in two or three coins sets for a couple of bucks that I bought and added to the Memorials.
