I took my son to this vintage toy store that I found where they have every action figure ever made, and my son was ecstatic. So when checking out I pay in cash and received this back from my change. Good Karma I think. Lol
Looks in good shape - 860,188,000 of the D Mint were created I want to share this webpage with you - http://cointrackers.com/coins/879/1976-d-washington-quarter/
Thanks for sharing that with me. I'm fully aware of its value. I'm just a fan of the bicentennial quarters and to find one in this condition to me is awesome. I have better looking ones like this one but again, I'm a fan of them all.
Getting one in that condition is cool and a nice surprise. Most times you get them all beat up or unpretty. And even though so many were minted and saved initially, as the years go by with poor value return (essentially none for most people and no prospect that there will be any), many will be simply spent and start being damaged or worn. In another 20 to 30 years, the value could increase enough so that mid to high BU examples might make them somewhat desirable, though I don't think they will ever be a key coin like we expect in a series. And if you find one in great condition with really sharp strike, keep it.
I still save them in a bucket here.....when I come across them. When it fills, I can usually find someone to buy them for $11/roll. Definitely a saver for me.
I'm a big fan of the bicentennial's. Nice keeper! I can usually find them from getting change at car washes but they are getting pretty beat up. Every now and then you find a nice one.
