Aydin Coin and Jewelry is doing a special for I think 2 days this weekend...one 2013 ASE and one 2013 Maple Leaf, free shipping. Sounds like not a bad deal. What do you guys think?

Silver is only 19.92 an ounce. I realize that ASEs command a bit of a premium, but you will likely do better at a local shop.

I will take the non-cheapskate approach on this. Silver is roughly $20.00 an ounce. The credit card fee is 3%. You are now at $41.20. The average markup on ASEs and Maple Leafs is around $3.50 each. You are now at $48.20. Therefore, you are paying about $1.80 for shipping. I may be crazy, but I don't see this being a bad deal at all.

Also, you are only buying 2 coins, so you are not going to get a super-great premium. Furthermore, they will be delivered to you. You don't even have to waste your time shopping around.

Would somebody please tell me why this is not a decent deal?

I say if you are only looking at getting these 2 coins to do it. You are not definitely getting taken.

Smart man...if you're just going to buy one of each and don't have a LCS to pick them up from, then this isn't a horrible deal. If you go to other online retailers and put 1 of each in your cart and add shipping...do that yourself...I can't do everything for you

I've bought from Aydin on ebay in the past. On more than one occasion, I've bought a lot of 1-3, and then called them directly and asked if they would sell me an entire tube at whatever the winning price was. They've never turned me down.

Only thing I see wrong with your math is the CC fee, unless this is normally added into purchases. I buy bullion with cash or check, so I have never paid such a fee.

OTOH, you cannot buy much gas nowadays with the small amount they would charge you for shipping either way, so it beat, (I am assuming its over), driving anywhere to buy a couple of ounces of silver.
