But that was not to &quot;destroy&quot; the host coin. It was to make it easier to over-strike because earlier steps in the process typically resulted in the coins being bent. The &quot;flattening&quot; was actually more of a straightening process. But this straightening wasn&#039;t necessary as it turned out, and I stopped doing that process several years ago.
