I like it. I admit that I had to look up the PCL-R.

I'm confused, my friend. The "Forum Few"... are you referring to you guys, like Dave, who started calling us all idiots and left? Or the way DC threatened everyone with lawsuits? Or how you were offended and apologetic to everyone about "what this thread turned into," yet you decided to come back and join in, calling everyone else "childish?"

You are my friend, but this is a two way street, bud. And you're driving on it too.

If you just called BOTH sides, "crybabies," then you win.

I find it funny when someone post a negative comment on these pieces, they cry like babies .... Back when I started on these thread I posted all kind of stuff, that got negative feedback and took the good with the bad .

Suck it up, DC lovers ............

Those are some real nice looking overstrikes @Cascade I didn't have enough cash on me today, found a 2009 Pl Silver Eagle, in an ANACS slab, the dealer is gonna hold on to it for me, It has some Gosting like yours do. It will be a first DC for me, and hopefully more to come. AS for all the neah sayers. Here is where you can pick up your reality check.

Cool that's #2 on my "need to get" list. Does it have a thin or thick DC mark. The thick ones (die pair 2) are way more rare, less than 10% of the roughly 5k mintage we're DP2. I just picked up coin #1 on my list :) I'll post it when I get a second.

I suggest looking in the mirror. And it's not about posting a negative comment on them. We don't really care about that in general. That's fine. It's the petulant compultion to react to and lambast every Carr post with misguided ideals, incorrect assumptions and outright lies.

Great then... it's very nice that you're going to finally stop claiming the "overstrikes" are going to, without question, always increase in value for many years to come. You rightfully wouldn't make such a claim about an actual coin, so it's change for the best even if you personally believe they will. It's even more kind of you to stop falsely claiming the "new HPA" has answered all legal questions regarding his "overstrikes" when you know damn well that's not the case and that the question has yet to be answered. Over all though, perhaps you deserve the most credit now that you're going to stop labeling anyone who disagrees with you as being "ignorant" or a "hater". That's a big and positive step, and one you certainly deserve a tip of the hat for. I never thought this day would come, but you've certainly showed yourself to be the bigger person, and for that a heartfelt kudos.

Hmm... Let's look at the untruths.

    (1) There is a completely new HPA that displaced all of the previous provisions and case law. (Actually, the HPA was strengthened to apply to those that help violators. None of the added provisions in any way affect the law as applied to Carr for the production of his pieces. None of the other provisions have changed).

    (2) The counterfeiting laws do not apply to numismatic coins. (There were at least three or four court cases involving coins with numismatic premiums including classic gold, Morgan Dollars, certain better date silver, Mercury Dimes, certain DDOs and overdates. Moreover, all remain legal tender under the Coinage Act of 1965 and are therefore current coins of the U.S.).

    (3) Carr did not engage in flattening processes or other processes with the goal of eradicating the host coin. (Actually he admits to using flattening processes and further admitted to overstriking some coins four times to eradicate the details and design of the host coin as much as possible. See post #354 for citation and quote)

    (4) Counterfeits or imitation numismatic items need be exact copies or reproductions. This has been rejected so many times it isn't funny.

    (5) Carr's coins will always go up in value. (This is an unproven assumption and seemingly based solely on your own pecuniary interest in the said pieces.)

You seem to lead the pack with outright distortions and inaccuracies and project your own inadequacies onto everyone else. I understand that you want his pieces to be legitimate just like young children want Santa Claus to exist. I'm sorry to tell you, there is no Santa Claus in numismatics.

In the US many dealers and serious coin collectors know about DC overstrikes. In Europe they are pretty much unknown and any coin with a wrong date or mm would probably be called a counterfeit immediately... or... well anything could happen :)

PS: don't forget: 99% of the coins here are raw and when buying a common coin like a Morgan dollar, the average collector may not even look at a price guide

There is a way to resolve the DCarr threads here once and for all, but I doubt the moderators would go for it. Why not create a separate forum just for Carr/"fantasy" wares with a huge disclaimer pinned to the top outlining the issues in the thread? For legal purposes, I could write it and acknowledge the work is my product and does not necessarily represent the official views of CT, CT moderators, etc.

Yes, and Mr. Carr, and @Cascade could oversee your work, to correct your errors.
