Joe, it can go into two different
holders, or a 2-pc. holder, but
it won't be called a mated pair.

It's a detached outer clad layer now.

Awesome. Thanks for the knowledge, as always. I thought "mated pair" meant any two coins that went together, like this one, split planchets, brockages, etc.

 

Ok. I received it, and it rolls around inside the slab, which means it is making contact with the copper core.

I think I now have to submit it to put in separate holders.

 

After consultation, I am leaving it as-is. Thanks everyone!
