Yesterday was the 1900th anniversary of Trajan's death, and today is the anniversary of Hadrian receiving news of his adoption. So to celebrate, post your Trajan and Hadrian coins, of which unfortunately, I have none.

My 2 favorite Hadrian coins, leaving Rome and returning to Rome, travelling through the entire Roman empire was his core business.
Let's play Trajan Melqart Tetradrachm of Tyre Trajan Mars denarius Hadrian Hemidrachm of Cappadocia Hadrian Annona denarius
Here's a recent purchase that I have yet to post. Trajan Lot 154. Well, I've got a few coins of Trajan: And here's a denarius of Hadrian from the first year of his reign:
I have one from pretty close to Trajan's death. Trajan: AE Sestertius, Providentia standing left, holding wand over globe in right hand, sceptre in left, left elbow resting on column. RIC 663, issued at the end of his reign, 116-17. AE quadrans, head of Hercules/boar walking right. RIC 702, issued 98-102 AD. Hadrian: AR denarius, Roma seated left on cuirass, holding Victory and spear. RIC 78, issued 123 AD.
Here's a denarius of Trajan, Fortuna Redux. I love how much lettering gets squeezed onto these... Trajan, AD 98-117 AR denarius, 3.3g, 19m, 6h; Rome mint, AD 114-117. Obv.: IMP CAES NER TRAIAN OPTIM AVG GERM DAC; Laureate bust right. Rev.: PARTHICO P M TR P COS VI PP SPQR; Fortuna seated left holding a rudder and cornucopia // FORT RED Reference: RIC II Trajan 315, p. 266
They say Trajan was the first Spanish Emperor, but few people know he was also the first Neanderthal Emperor. Those eyebrow ridges on his portraits are something to behold.
This coin is certainly circulated and pitted on the reverse, but it's a case of scarcity outweighing eye-appeal. It's an extremely rare as of Hadrian with Indulgentia reverse. One can occasionally find a denarius with Indulgentia, but the bronze types are much more difficult. Acsearch records only 5 examples at auction since 2011... Hadrian, AD 117-138 Æ As, 25mm, 8.1g, 6h; Rome mint, AD 132-134 Obv.: HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS; Draped bust right. Rev.: INDVLGENTIA AVG COS III P P; Indulgencia seated left, extending right hand and holding scepter; S-C Reference: RIC II 726, p. 433
This early Hadrian denarius includes on the reverse DIVI TRAIAN F pointing out that Hadrian was the son of Trajan. Unfortunately mine is PIETAS. There is one with ADOPTIO. https://www.cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=74287
