Before I head off to work, I usually scan sixbid site. I had checked out Dr. Pneus Busso Auction last week. I saw to my amazement (SEVEN)!!!!! solidi of Magnetius all in Vorz.=EF. So, I cast a hopefull bid on one of them. Fast forward....I found that I got my trophy AV Solidus ND struck 351/52AD Trier Mint 4.51 g. obv. Emperor facing right rev. Victoria and Libertas

Wow, panzerdawg => another very cool, golden addition (coingrats) Magnentius, eh? ... ummm, well I do have this Nancy-like example (good enough?)
Thanks guys! I got that for a steal!!!!! I remember the exact coin in mint state quality sold in NFA 1980s auction for 12K US....A LOT OF $ BACK THEN!!!!!
John: That is a fantastic GOLD Solidus... well struck, centered, gorgeous! Although I do not have many Ancients in Gold, I am a Modern Gold lover! However, with all your wonderful postings, I am beginning to feel you have a prejudice and bias against GREEN! I sometimes see SILVER from you, but you NEVER seem to have GREEN. You need to fix that someday... just to add a little COLOR to your collection. ...Give some more variety in your life. Besides, aren't the GOOD lawns GREEN??? (I am just helping you expand your horizons a little... ) RI Magnentius 351-352 CE GREEN AE 2 Maiorina 2 Victories holding wreath VOT V
I like green=$!!!! However, I spend all day in the green/ cutting grass/ trimming hedges/shrubbs/weeding flowerbeds/blowing leaves....oops....forgot the leaves are yellow/orange/red now Off to work!
A fantastic coin for sure (worth posting twice ) @Alegandron, not sure we need @panzerman stepping on our blue suede shoes. Please let him in his yellow world and everyone will be happy not to have him outbidding them everytime !!! Q
Just got back from blowing leaves/beautifull day to spend outdoors...12 celsius! Thanks for all your great comments!!!!! That auction had SEVEN Magnetius solidi/ plus Decentius 1 1/2/ 2 soldi multiples....these went for BIG EUROS 125K/200K...must be nice! to be that rich. Not to whine....but here I am stuck with Canada $....I have to pay $1.50=1 EURO Cucumbor you are so lucky to live in France and have a strong currency. Canadian collectors are definately at a disadvantage
Whether you buy coins in euros or dollars or whatever, an expensive coin is still expensive...
