I could not resist the temptation! This beautifull coin remained "unsold"....so I picked it up from MDC Auctions/Monaco obv. depicts Duke on his horse/swinging sword rev. shows coat of arms from Milan/Dragon condition supberbe/FDC This coins combines the "Dukat" and "Cavalier d'or" themes
WOW. I couldn't have resisted temptation, either. If I could afford the thing! Something tells me I could sell my entire collection and still not have enough. LOL. What a terrific design... strike... grade... luster... etc.
@panzerman - one of these days I would like to buy the absolute nastiest coin in your JUNK box. I will probably have to save up for months just to be able to afford that. Haha.

I just had a rough day/ we had 11 cm. of heavy wet snow (which was not in forecast) So, I had to shovel 30 driveways/walks by hand/ both snowblowers were in repair/ got it done in 6 hrs/ pretty good workout! Yeah...I was amazed that this coin remained unsold/ I had my eye on it before auction started....but thought it would go way over estimate/ so I did not even do a prebid. When i checked realized prices/ I noted I had won a FDC Louis Napoleon III AV 20 Francs 1863-A/ but lost a FDC Double Louis d'or/ so I used that $ to get the Milan coin
Yes, that coin did not sell in MDC/ Monaco auction. So I bought is as "unsold lot" for 3K euros. I must have bought 150+ coins that way/ all were great buys. I will let you know when I see a MS one.
