    Cool coin. It must be very thin if it's 18mm and 1.74g.

    Holy Wheat Stalks!! That coin is older, rarer, nicer condition and more pagan than mine. I'm gonna look that up in the MH. Thats bananas!!!

    panzer-dawg => curious? ... are these all "new" purchases, or are you pacing yourself and merely posting your entire collection? (fantastic stuff, either way)

    Oh => congrats on another
    golden winner!!

    :rolleyes:

    Thanks for great comments, Axumite coins are really neat...one of my favorites. Some are recent auction purchases/ most are from collection that I built up over 25 years. There are 640+ AV coins and counting...lots of variety. Now, started into AR Denarius too. Off the 640/ 300 are from 650BC-1400AD)

    Another hot/muggy day today/ going to be "nukeing" weeds today, with KILLLEX....love that part of my work!:):):):):):) Cannot stand dandelions/weeds in lawns.;)

    WOW !!! That is a fantastic and utterly mesmerizing coin no matter what area of collecting one focuses on....

    Something tells me I'd have to go after its silver 'clone' LOL

    That's a fantastic coin, one of my favorites of all the coins you've posted!

    Suggestion: instead of thread titles stating the coin's metal, weight, and size, tell us who issued the coin. "Auxmite 1/3 AV stater of King Ousanas", or something like that. When your posts are titled with just metal and weight, trying to find the thread again at a later date is difficult. (Same comment applies to your Macrinus denarius post, https://www.cointalk.com/threads/ar-denarius-rome-mint-19-5mm-3-15g.279258/)

    In the post itself, full descriptions are also helpful. Even better would be a bit of information about the coin or history of that time, and/or why you were moved to acquire that particular coin :)

    Great Aureus @panzerman !
    I thought you said you had no Aureus... Oh, wait... You meant no Roman Republic Aurei... :)

    Thanks again, I will try to improve my descriptions...always learning. Actually, I have seven Imperial Aurei/ no Republican ones. I am working hard to get more, I really love them.

    Yes indeed, its really hard to get good quality Axumite coinage, esp. the late Rulers like Joel/Israel etc. On the otherhand, FDC Roman Imperial Aurei are much easier to come by....but at great costs:(:(:(:(:(:(:( 30K and up.
