We were in Austria in 2002 when that country switched from the Shilling to the Euro (1 January 2002). I had gone into a bank in late December 2001 to convert some US$ and found the bank was selling some packs of Euro coins used to familiarized the Austrians with the new coins. I bought several. Inside one of the packs was this coin: A 2€ coin with two small clips. The Blakesley Effect is slightly evident BUT More evident was something we don't see in the US on clipped coins. Since the 2€ has a ring of copper-nickel surrounding a copper/bronze center, the clips affected the ring but not the center. Look where the two metal pieces separated (best seen on the obverse at 8 and 10:30). I have no idea of its value.
