Back in 1813, close to 40,000 Spanish reales were used to punch out dumps and two coins were made out of one: the holey and the dump. Many were recalled and culled over the years, making them quite scarce. Estimated survival rate of dump is around 2,000 and holey 300. Today a low grade holey could be worth more than the cost of a car and a higher grade could potentially buy a house (!)
