Peanut enjoyed his day trip to Chicago, though he slept most of the way there and back. Once in Chicago, he was all wide awake and prepped for the show. He wore his special CoinTalk badge. And so excited to get in. I had to pay, but Peanut got in for free! Oh, yeah! And before we went into the bourse, he saw a pretty lady at the ANA registration booth. The ladies at the booth were so kind, they even let him help work the registry computer.
Then Peanut headed for the Bourse. It was really large, with so many booths. But Peanut found a book he wanted. Maybe he intends me to learn about these coins. Peanut knew who The Penny Lady was as he had previously met her in Long Beach a few years ago. He got his picture taken with her this time. Peanut could not believe his good fortune. Ben Franklin was there and was willing to have a picture taken. Peanut knows that it's "Pics or it didn't happen" and he was sure that if he did not get a picture, no one would believe him. For a moment Peanut thought there was an amusement section, and he asked to be put on this. A BEP person helped him get settled in. But no, it was only a very old 19th century Spider Press for intaglio printing. Not a ride.
Peanut saw some really neat exhibits there, this one was for National Bank Notes. And he got to see both a 1943 Bronze Cent and a 1944 Zinc-plated Steel Cent. Wow! He was really impressed.
He also saw some cool ancient coins from Lycia. Here are three of them. First here is an abstract Lion Head. Second one here is a Pegasus. Third one here is a Head of Athena.
He also purchased two high grade Franklin Halves. He figured this was a really good haul and enjoyed his ride home, where he later posed with the three things that were purchased. Chicago was a really good show and worth going to, but very many booths and he got tired.
Minions? He's not sociopathic I hope. Great report, @Kasia. Sounds like you (both ) had a lot of fun.
