Thank you! However, I still think you’re right about what you said. I admit that my foray into coin sales and purchases are more for fun vs for a livelihood. If I were relying on the income for this purchase to feed my family, it wouldn’t have been a great investment.
I'm not the one to ask I only see one piece of silver and I'm not a nickel guy... mostly because I never took the time to learn what to look for and if there was any money to squeeze out I did buy a lot of 10 V nickels once for $8. One was a Hobo V nickel that I sold for $25 and a better date one I Conserved ( cough cough ) then sold for $50. The other 8 I sold at a coin club meeting auction for $10. Hmmm, maybe I should know a little more about nickels
I appreciate that we can reach amicable agreement. I really do wish you success. I just also urge you caution. As long as it is for fun, have at it.
I decided a long time ago that I won’t buy coins to flip them. It would most likely kill all the fun. I know if I buy the “right” coins, their value will appreciate over time.
@physics-fan3.14 so the 1912-D nickel is currently going for $13 shipped on a Facebook group. Looks like I won’t recoup much there. I think I might send the 1876 nickel to ICG for conservation. I kinda like it with all the die cracks. This may end up being a net loss for me. We shall see!
A number of these coins look cleaned. Uncleaned I might retail as high as $175. But the cleaning makes it $100 at most.
