    Best of luck to you and your endeavor! ANY source of good information for newbies is good for the hobby in general. This hobby can use all of the positive influences it can find.

    I would warn however that information is a double edged sword, there will be a constant flow of misinformation and sometimes it can be difficult to be heard above the din.

    Suggestion: To help identify 'Newbie Institute' threads, when being created, perhaps you might place an "NI: (fill in thread name here)"

    This way those interested will know to check it out and those not interested in beginner-level threads can avoid opening them.

    i am a member of the BNA and the ormskirk and west lanashire NS i have been collecting coins for nearly 48 years and in that time i have gained lots of knowledge about UK and commonwealth coins.
